Abigail Sumanis

Environmental Planner

Abigail received her Bachelor of Science in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability from Colorado State University in 2016. She currently works as a contracted Environmental Planner for Clark County Water Quality. In that capacity, she assists with Clark County stormwater regulatory enforcement, environmental reporting and document development, community outreach and engagement support, and water quality field data collection.

In the past she has gained experience working as an Environmental Scientist where she conducted Biological and Environmental Assessments and Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments for various state and federal agencies on federal and private lands throughout the southwest. She has experience researching and collecting data on affected environments and environmental consequences associated with development projects, focusing on effects on air quality, cultural and archaeological resources, wetlands and streams, stormwater, vegetation, geology and soils, wildlife, threatened and endangered species, visitor use and experience, and impacts on management and operations.

Abigail also served as a Health and Safety Officer, where she developed project specific Health and Safety Plans, conducted weekly safety trainings, and ensured compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to worker health and safety.

Throughout her professional career, Abigail has established strong professional working relationships with agencies, cities, and community members throughout Nevada.
